Acting: Your Way
Open to performers of all skill and experience levels (aged 17 and up), this class will deepen students’ practical understanding of acting by exploring the inner-life of character as well as the value of technique. Acting: Your Way also seeks to identify students’ strengths, around which they can build a more complete skillset. Over the course of six weeks, we will work with speeches and scenes from contemporary plays as well as the works of Shakespeare—noting the differences and similarities, and how our understanding of one can increase our ability with the other.
Acting: Your Way is taught by Max Waszak, Artistic Director of FairShakes Theater Co. Max is a North Carolina-born theater maker and graduate of UNC Greensboro, The Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy for Classical Acting in Washington DC, and East 15 Acting School in London, UK.
